Carolyn N. Traylor was born and reared in Statesville, North Carolina. As an educator, she holds a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland––College Park and a Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College. Her career as an educator spans over 40 years. Among her affiliations are: life member of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College, life member of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, life member of the International Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Woman of the Year for Michigan, 2002). Carolyn is a member of First Baptist Church of Highland Park, Landover, Maryland, where she serves in the Missionary Ministry and volunteers at the Highland Park Christian Academy. She is a dedicated mentor and advisor to her daughter, Kathi, and other family members and friends
